About Us...
Pack 34 is a close knit Cub Scout pack for boys in grades 1 through 5. We are chartered by St. Marks Episcopal Church, 3816 Bellaire Blvd., Houston, Texas. We are part of the Sam Houston Area Councl.
We are fortunate to have lots of experienced leaders (most of our leaders have 2+ years den leader experience and some were scouts themselves!). Our leaders are very dedicated to making scouting a fun, educational, and rewarding experience for your son and your family. Our pack stresses qualities such as respect, honesty, and camaraderie.
While our focus is on providing a fulfilling scouting experience for our boys, we also offer many family-oriented events as well, such as family campouts and outings.
Purpose
There is a reason for everything boys do in Cub Scouting. Apart from the fun and excitement, the aim of Cub Scouting is to help boys grow into good citizens who are strong in character and personally fit. This is why we say that Cub Scouting is fun with a purpose.
Meetings
Our regular meeting time is Thursday nights from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the St. Marks Hauser Hall. The pack meets once a month. Every Cub Scout is a member of a Cub Scout pack. A pack is a large group of boys. The pack is divided into smaller groups called dens. Each den has about six to eight boys. All of the Cub Scouts in a den are about the same age. Our Dens typically meet two to three times per month, and we hold a Pack meeting once a week. Check the pack calendar for more information.
Dues
Money from dues is used to purchase den and pack meeting materials, badges and awards, and to supplement the costs to scouts for outings and campouts.
